INTO THE UNKNOWN
EXTRAPOLATION
Measured behaviour of processes are usually interpolated between points of
information, and extrapolated to the area beyond known points with due
caution and reservations. The legitimate extrapolation extends a short and
reasonable distance to the unknown field. Extrapolations within and outside
reasonable distances have their fallacies.
THE RADIOACTIVE DECAY
The nuclear scientist defined the radioactive decay as a process,
which takes place irrespective of temperature and pressure
conditions.
It was certainly true for the narrow band of pressure and
temperature regimes attainable under laboratory conditions, but
its extrapolation to extreme ranges PROVED tragically not
valid.
The disastrous outcome of testing the first thermonuclear bomb
has revealed that the stable isotope of uranium become unstable
and fissionable at the fusion temperature of Hydrogen.
For some ill-perceived reason the external and inert shell of the
thermonuclear device was made of the stable isotope of
Uranium. The same material is used in conventional weapons to
increase the penetration of the projectiles.
The stable uranium isotope casing of the bomb became
fissionable at the explosion of thermonuclear charge, and participated in the nuclear chain reaction. The thoughtless
addition of the unconsidered mass of now fissionable uranium to
the known explosive mass multiplied the explosive effect, and
delivered deadly levels of radiation and fallout of particularly
"dirty" particles 1,200 km inside the zone declared safe for
international shipping.
The radiation dose delivered into the safe zone cut short the life
of hundreds of sea farer, in particular Japanese fishermen.

HYPOTHESIS
Extrapolation beyond the measured ranges is a scientific speculation, a way to
make a hypothesis to work towards. It is not a fact until proven. Advance in
knowledge or technology may prove it true or false.
THE ABSOLUTE ZERO TEMPERATURE
The Absolute Zero temperature has been inferred by the
extrapolation of temperature dependent, kinetic motion of ideal
gas particles. The velocity of motion changes linearly in direct
relationship with the temperature. The line of temperature
gradient intersects Zero pressure (another term for Zero kinetic
velocity) at just below -273 degree Celsius.
It wast termed The Absolute Zero temperature, meaning no
temperature at all, the possible maximum of what is perceived
COLD, the temperature of VOID before the Universe formed,
the beginning of the solely positive Kelvin scale of temperatures.
Experiments conducted in the proximity of the so called Absolute
Zero temperature tend to indicate a change in the phase of
matter, rather than cessation of motion. At the proximity of -273
degree Celsius, liquid Helium acquires super fluidity; it flows up
on the wall and out of container in an apparent defiance of
gravity. Non-conductive materials become super conductors;
they conduct electric current at Zero resistance, without loss.
The validity of temperature assigned to the Absolute Zero is in
reasonable doubt.
